POSITION DETAILS

 

This position will report directly to the Land Manager and be located in our Pittsburgh office. Primary responsibility of the position entails all Land functions supporting the development of properties for the eastern division of Penn Virginia’s subsidiary, Penn Virginia Oil & Gas Corporation.

                                     

Qualifications

           

·         Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 10 years’ experience in oil and gas  required.

·         Must understand oil and gas terminology and operations and be knowledgeable in land titles, oil and gas leases, rights-of-way, and settlement and negotiation of surface damages. .

·         Ability to read topographic and survey maps and be able to communicate with attorneys and understand court procedure.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

·         Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

·         Excellent verbal/ written communication and math skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Assist with the acquisition of oil and gas leases, rights-of-way, determination of well location sites, well permitting, negotiation and settlement-of-damage claims, review and curative of drilling title opinions, due diligence and other oil and gas operations.

·         Handle problem resolution relating to company-operated oil and gas properties with  surface owners, coal owners and their Lessees, domestic gas customers, other oil and gas companies and any other interested parties.

·         Act as liaison with oil and gas lessees and coal owners and their Lessees concerning proposed and ongoing development plans and with internal personnel concerning the status of wells not operated by the company.

·         Coordinate activities relating to litigation involving oil and gas land or operational issues on company-operated properties, including trespass, water well, surface damage and operational rights.

·         Gather information from external sources relating to leased land, property and mining operations on company-operated oil and gas properties.
