POSITION DETAILS

Located in our offices in Pittsburgh, PA, the individual in this role will have primary responsibility to coordinate and manage all aspects of drilling operations for our Eastern Region. The position will report directly to the Operations Manager of the Eastern Region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, approve and implement well plans, including casing designs, cementing and mud programs, bit and hydraulics programs, BHA and wellhead designs.
  • Prepare drilling AFEs and monitor drilling efficiency and performance against AFEs.
  • Review drill pipe and drill collar requirements and implement inspection programs as needed.
  • Monitor and review daily drilling operations.
  • Approve and implement location staking and construction and assist with permitting process.
  • Coordinate location damage issues with Land Department.
  • Coordinate location reclamation after drilling completion.
  • Oversee drilling engineering personnel and assign projects.
  • Hire consultants and coordinate consultants’ office and field schedules as necessary.
  • Interact and consult with engineering staff regarding complex and difficult workovers or other operations as needed.
  • Stay abreast of technology advances involving drilling and recommend utilization of appropriate technology on Company assets.
  • Review and approve drilling invoices.
  • Prepare and maintain a drilling schedule.

 

Qualifications

  • Must possess the highest level of integrity and ethics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with Petroleum-related emphasis required.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in oil & gas industry required
  • A self-starter with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experienced Supervisor with familiarity with horizontal drilling plans, design, and implementation a must.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
