Corporate Accountant

POSITION DETAILS

 

Located in Radnor, Pennsylvania, the individual in this role will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting. Primary responsibility includes performing debt and equity accounting and other non-routine accounting processes.

 

Qualifications

 

·         Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business, with accounting emphasis, is required. 

·         Minimum of 5 years accounting work experience required.

·         CPA certification is a plus.

·         Microsoft Office Suite software proficiency.

·         Experience with SAP systems desired.

·         Self-starter with good problem solving and analytical skills.

·         Ideal candidates must also possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Debt/Equity

·         Familiarity with various debt instruments, equity accounts and equity-based compensation.

·         Monitor debt balances by performing roll forwards, calculating interest accruals when necessary and capitalizing interest when appropriate.

·         Assist in quarterly accounting related to commodity derivatives and interest rate swaps.

·         Prepare reconciliations and analyses of equity-related accounts.

·         Account for exercise of stock options and maintain fair value calculations of options granted.

Other

·         Perform accounting for asset retirement obligations.

·         Prepare reconciliations and analyses of pension and post-retirement medical accounts.

·         Review potential or executed lease contracts to determine lease type (capital or operating) and appropriate accounting.

·         Accumulate and prepare information to complete disclosures related to Commitments and Contingencies, including rental/lease commitments, firm transportation commitments, legal and environmental compliance.

·         Coding of accounts payable on SAP A/P system for corporate costs and expenses.

·         Assist with review of existing accounting policies and procedures and development of new accounting policies and procedures.

·         Coordinate and prepare documentation regarding accounting policies and procedures.

·         Monitor and coordinate distribution of information related to delegation of authority.

·         Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

·         Perform financial analyses and special projects, as needed.
